How it works

This calculator divides an annual salary by the working hours you nominate across the year. It can also estimate the effect of super-included packages, unpaid leave, casual loading, and leave loading on the hourly equivalent.

Examples

$85,000 salary at 38 hours: the base hourly rate is a little over $43/hour using a 52-week full-year assumption. If the package includes super, the underlying base pay is lower than the headline number.

• Uses gross salary before tax.
• Default full-time assumption is 38 hours per week.
• Actual hourly earnings change if you work more hours than your contract assumes.
